Guest from Kansas

Joe W, traveling from Richmond, Va., to a suburb of Kansas City, Kansas, stopped to spend the night. His Goldwing was beautiful and after riding all day in the rain, he was very happy to dine with us at our local Mexican restaurant and have a warm comfortable good night's sleep! We enjoyed his visit and sharing life experiences.

GUEST FROM THE PAST

Gary Shapiro and his lady, Ali, came in last night. We were at Cornucopia together back in the 70's. He has made his life work peace building, and is off to Africa soon. It was great to see him again and speak of old friends!

These two, Richard and Jean, young senior riders, got stuck in 6 inches fresh gravel around Howardstown, as their GPS lead them astray. They went for miles and kept getting stuck, dropping bike, overheating, and at one point, the brake fluid boiled. They had no brakes for about a half hour! Of course, being a Honda, it recovered and was fine in the morning!

They came to us totally exhausted. They enjoyed our Mexican Restaurant on Main, and our home. We very much enjoyed their company! Richard and Jean were in the process of finishing an Iron Butt ride of 25 national parks in the south east/central area of the country.

Our cabin in the woods

This is available for $20 a night. It is primative with fish in the pond and many hiking, bicycling trails.
